That’s why we’ve come up with something very special and opened our doors for an exciting project. In close collaboration with the creative minds at Kassel Reels, three unique promotional videos have been created, showcasing our 5-star lodge at its finest.

When a Retreat Becomes a Film Set – Overlook Lodge as a Filming Location for “Tulpenkind”
Overlook Lodge stands for tranquility, nature, and conscious time-outs. For many of our guests, it is a place to switch off, pause, and intentionally distance themselves from everyday life. It was therefore all the more special for us that our house was recently allowed to take on a completely different role: as a filming location for the independent film “Tulpenkind.”

Overlook Lodge Joins Basdorfer Hutewald e.V.
The Overlook Lodge now supports the Basdorfer Hutewald!
The Basdorfer Hutewald at Edersee revives an ancient tradition: pigs grazing in the oak forest – just as they did centuries ago. The association protects rare domestic animal breeds, maintains a unique piece of cultural landscape, and creates a special nature experience for visitors.
We are thrilled: The Overlook Lodge is now an official member of the Friends of Basdorfer Hutewald association!
With this, we strengthen a sustainable, regional project that perfectly aligns with our mission: preserving nature, celebrating heritage, and offering guests authentic experiences.
